What is Acceptable ads?
Definition
Acceptable Ads is a set of criteria for non-intrusive ads exempted from ad blocking.
Meaning explained
Acceptabe Ads is a set of criteria agreed upon by the Acceptable Ads Committee (AAC) which defines non-intrusive ads. These ad standards are supposed to be a middle ground between user experience and publishers’ revenue interests.
Acceptable Ads program also has its own Acceptable Ads filter list which is incorporated into one of the most downloaded adblocks – Adblock Plus, via its Ad Recovery program. Ad Recovery program is a feature of Adlock Plus that identifies the “good” ads and exempt them from ad blocking. In effect, publishers who follow the standards may therefore display their ads even to the large audience of adblock users.
