Banner ads usually consist of an image or an animated object which si embedded in a web page. The purpose is to attract visitor’s attention and increase website traffic of a promoted page.
Banners usually occupy a certain and constant place on a webpage, which doesn’t change with user’s interaction. Therefore, even if webpage is scrolled down, the banner doesn’t move in order to stay in view. However, the content of a banner can change with each page refresh.
Banners that change the position, specifically they move with user’s scrolling and always stay on top, are called Large Sticky Ads. This type of an ad is considered intrusive and deemed by Accepptable ads standards.
